The retrofit of this 22 story building was completed in 2014. The building was completely renovated for the GSA with the new curtain wall installed over the existing structure saving project time and minimizing tenant disruption.
Prior to installing the new exterior walls, existing precast façade panels were reinforced and remained in place. The existing precast was used as the support structure for a portion of the new curtain wall. The award-winning restoration included energy star qualification and LEED Innovation in Design award.
Gordon H. Smith Corporation provided consulting services for the design phase and construction administration phase including; shop drawing review, observation of mock-up construction and testing, on-site quality assurance inspection and observation of field water testing.
